How to Recycle Dr. Brown's Baby Bottles

Parenthood comes with lots of lessons learned, laughter shared and baby stuff! While you may be tempted to toss or store unused baby bottles, there's an environmentally-friendly (and easy!) way to clear the clutter. Recycling is one of the easiest ways to decrease waste and spare the environment. We know your time is valuable, so we've taken the liberty of helping you streamline the de-cluttering process.

Dr. Brown's Anti-colic Options+ Baby Bottle (Regular and Glass)

• The Dr. Brown's bottle cap, collar, reservoir, and vessel are all made of polypropylene, an adaptable material that can be recycled into many different products. The vent-insert is classified as a #7, please consult with your local recycling centers for more information. These are safe to recycle and could be repurposed into clothing fiber, kitchenware and more!

• The Dr. Brown's glass bottle vessel is 100% recyclable, keep in mind to always rinse items before recycling them.

Please note: Silicone can be recycled but the process is specialized. So much so that it should be sent to a dedicated silicone recycling company to be properly treated.

Packaging

If your Dr. Brown's packaging is made of paperboard, it and can go right into the recycling bin! Be sure to flatten the boxes to maximize room.

Before recycling, check with your local recycling program to ensure applicable materials are accepted.

 

What to Do with Other Used Baby Items

In addition to recycling, there are other sustainable ways to get rid of and reuse old baby items and get back your sweet, sweet shelf space.

Donate

If you have gently used clothes and toys that are taking up valuable storage space, think twice before sending them to the landfill. Many charities, nonprofits and shelters are in need of these items and can put them to good use. Some will even accept unopened baby care supplies like formula, wipes or shampoo.

Swap

Plan a swap date with a group of friends who have children of different ages. By trading your gently used (ahem! or well-loved) clothing and gear, everyone will walk away with something new that they can use now or in the near future.

Repurpose

Once your little one starts outgrowing their baby things, you may find yourself left with a lot of good quality items you don't know what to do with. You'd be surprised how many cute and creative ways there are to utilize baby products! Cleaned baby food jars can be used as paintbrush holders or to organize your spices. Use all those burp cloths as cleaning rags for miscellaneous household messes. Even an old changing table can transform into a bar cart with a little grit and imagination!
