Courtney's story, mom to Corlee
Our baby girl, Corlee Kae Henderson was born on April 8, 2018 with a complete cleft lip and palate. Due to the severity of the cleft lip and palate, Corlee struggled excessively with feeding. Her cleft kept her from the natural sucking that comes with babies born without such challenges.
Because of her inability to suck naturally, Corlee’s weight began to decrease until we discovered Dr. Brown’s ‘valve’ technology that is used with the Dr. Brown’s bottles. This mechanism triggers the milk to release by a simple compression of the nipple rather than suction. This amazing product literally saved our baby girl’s life!
Being first time parents and having a baby born with the feeding challenges that comes with having a cleft lip and palate brings a ton of anxiety. That anxiety was lifted thanks to Dr. Brown’s bottles that truly brought hope into what appeared as a hopeless situation.
Corlee is now thriving as a 3-month-old who has now successfully undergone her first cleft repair surgery. The ease of feeding the past 3 months with the Dr. Brown’s bottles brought her from a weight of 5 lbs. 1 ounce to now 13 lbs.! Weight gain was a critical factor in preparation for her first surgery. Now, post-surgery, Corlee continues to flourish with her feedings thanks to the Dr. Brown bottles with the compression valve!
Our family is forever grateful for this bottle technology that has allowed our baby girl to have a normal life. We were recently featured on NBC 5 News in Dallas, Texas due to Corlee’s healing journey of success. All of this is attributed to both Dr. Brown’s bottles and Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
Thank you for the vision of developing such a ‘life saving’ product. We are and will continue to be an advocate for this amazing technology and your company.
